American Composers Orchestra Premières Lucid Dreams
On November 11 th the American Composers Orchestra and Pilobolus Dance Theater premièred "Lucid Dreams", a new work for chamber orchestra, voice and electronics by Edward Bilous in Zankel Hall . The work featured choreography by Alison Chase and film by Mirra Bank. Using sound, movement and images "Lucid Dreams" is a multimedia journey along the edge of human awareness. "Lucid Dreams" was also performed at the Annenberg Center in Philadelphia .

Bilous/Pilobolus Première at the Joyce Theater

Beyond The Machine 3, Three Evenings of Electronic and Interactive Music presented by the Music Technology Center at the Juilliard School , Edward Bilous Director . The program featured the Juilliard Electric Ensemble performing works by Morton Subotnick, Daniel Roumain, Milica Paranosic, Joan La Barbara and a world première by Pete Wyer that includes live interaction with music and images broadcast from London via Internet link. "Night of the Dark Moon"
Concert Premiere at Alice Tully Hall
"Night of the Dark Moon" will be premièred by mezzo soprano Brenda Patterson on November 16th in Alice Tully Hall at 8:00. Patterson is the winner of the "Alice Tully Vocal Arts Award". "Night of the Dark Moon" was originally composed for choreographer Alison Chase and Pilobolus Dance Theater and was arranged as a concert work for Patterson. "Night of the Dark Moon" is scored for an ensemble featuring 6 percussionists, saxophones, winds, strings and electronics.

"NIGHT OF THE DARK MOON"
"Night of the Dark Moon", a new work by acclaimed choreographer Alison Chase and Pilobolus Dance Theater was premièred at the Joyce Theater in New York in June of 2005. "Night of the Dark Moon" is the second of three works by Bilous for Pilobolus including "Star Crossed" (2003) and a third untitled work scheduled to premiere in 2005. Along with projection designer Wendall Harrington, Bilous and Chase are also developing a multimedia "spectacle" for Pilobolus scheduled to premiere in 2006.

PREMIERS "BENEDICTUS"
"Benedictus, for Triple Chorus and Percussion" was premièred by the Choral Arts Society of Philadelphia at the Tindley Temple with David Tang conducting. The text for "Benedictus" is derived in part from a traditional 19 th century Xhosa (Hoe-sa), hymn "Nkosi Sikele' iAfrica". Xhosa is one of the largest tribal languages in Africa . "Benedictus" is a driving, celebratory work featuring styles of rhythmic organization common to West African drummers.
