"Scottsboro" Academy Award Nominee, is a dramatic documentary about the infamous trial of nine young black boys accused of raping two white girls in Alabama during the depression.
The score to "Scottsboro" features "Chaccone for Strings" written by Bilous and later adapted for the film. The Chaccone begins with a mournful dirge for two violas then slowly unfolds to include nine solo strings, one for each of the nine boys. A symphony orchestra joins the soloist to bring the work to its dramatic peak. The tragic "Scottsboro Theme" is also scored for a symphony orchestra.
A soundtrack CD is available at all major record stores. |
