“Lucid Dreams” is a multimedia work written for the American Composers Orchestra with choreography by Alison Chase and film by Mirra Bank. It is scored for chamber orchestra and voice with an extended rhythm section that includes electric and acoustic strings, saxophones and 5 percussionists.
In “Lucid Dreams” imaginary characters, both luminous and shadowy appear amidst a veil of translucent images projected throughout the space. The images are supported by a sensual soundscape that fuses a chamber orchestra with live and prerecorded electronics. “Lucid Dreams” was premièred at Zankel Hall, in New York , in 2005. |
